Dosimetrist - CMD
Dosimetrists are responsible for measuring, gathering, and analyzing data to calculate the dosage for cancer treatment plans. Some job duties include: designing treatment plans, interpreting the physician’s instructions for radiation therapy and treatment plans, monitoring radioactive exposure, supervising, performing, or assisting in the implementation of the treatment plan, completing records and reports concerning radiation therapy, and maintaining radiation equipment. Dosimetrists are required to complete a minimum of a two to four year program that leads to a certificate, Associate degree, or Bachelor’s degree in radiation therapy. They must also receive certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board.
