Echocardiographer - RDCS, RCS
Echo Technologists, also known as cardiac sonographers, are responsible for capturing single and two dimensional images of the heart. Some of the job duties include: preparing the patients for exams, positioning the patient, operating cardiac ultrasound equipment to capture the images, completing reports and records concerning the echo procedures, and maintaining the cardiac ultrasound equipment. Ultrasound technologists must complete a two to four year program that leads to a certificate, Associate degree, or Bachelor’s degree in ultrasound. They must also receive certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography or Cardiovascular Credentialing International in Cardiac Sonography.
