Sonographer - RDMS
Ultrasound Technologists, also known as sonographers, are responsible for capturing images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis and treatment of medical problems. Some job duties include: preparing patients for exams, positioning the patient and equipment, operating ultrasound equipment to capture images, completing records and reports concerning ultrasound scans, and maintaining the ultrasound equipment. Ultrasonographers must complete a two to four year program that leads to a certificate, Associate degree, or Bachelor’s degree in ultrasound. They must receive certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Credentialing International. Ultrasound technologists can specialize in abdominal, obstetric, vascular, or cardiac (echo).
