Radiation Therapist - ARRT (T)

Radiation Therapists are responsible for administering radiation treatments to cancer patients.  Some job duties include:  preparing patients for exams, positioning patients and the equipment, operating radiation therapy equipment to administer prescribed doses of radiation to patient, interpreting the physician’s instructions for radiation therapy, completing records and reports concerning radiation therapy, observing patients during and after treatment, and maintaining radiation equipment.  Radiation therapists must complete a minimum of a two to four year program that leads to a certificate, Associate degree, or Bachelor’s degree in radiation therapy.  They must also receive certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in radiation therapy.
